Adding Content to Screens
Learn how to add and manage content on your digital signage screens.
Screen Contents Tab
The Screen contents tab is where you build what appears on your screen. This is the main workspace for assembling your digital signage content.
The screen detail view also has a header with Delete, Preview, and Pair player buttons, and the content area has a Live / Draft toggle at the top (with an info icon). The toggle switches between the Live version currently playing on the screen and the Draft version you are editing — your changes apply once you save them.
Content Area Overview
The screen contents interface has two main sections:
Left: Content Canvas
- Drag and drop area for content items
- Shows all content currently assigned to the screen
- Displays Total duration at the top
- Content items show as cards with:
- Thumbnail preview
- Content name
- Content type badge (e.g. IMAGE, PLAYLIST, CLOCK, SLIDE)
- Duration in seconds
- Hover toolbar for editing, previewing, and removing the item
Right: Content Sidebar

- Click the Preview button (eye icon, top-right)
- See how content will appear
- Check timing and transitions
- Verify content displays correctly
Best Practices
Content Organization
- Start with Key Content: Add most important items first
- Logical Flow: Arrange content in a sensible order
- Varied Duration: Mix quick and longer content
- Content Balance: Don't overload one screen
- Test Thoroughly: Preview before deploying
Duration Settings
- Static images: 10-15 seconds each
- Text slides: 15-20 seconds (reading time)
- Videos: Full length (don't cut short)
- Apps/Widgets: 10-30 seconds depending on content
- Total loop: 2-5 minutes is typical for most screens
Content Mix
Create engaging displays by mixing:
- Images and videos
- Static and dynamic content
- Internal and external content (apps)
- Text and visuals
Performance Considerations
- File sizes: Optimize images and videos
- Number of items: Don't add too many (affects performance)
- App refresh rates: Set reasonable intervals
- Total duration: Keep loops manageable
